Ken Roulston, Managing Director, CMI
Ken Roulston started his career in IT over 40 years ago as a hardware engineer. In the mid-eighties he moved into sales with Computer Maintenance Ireland and subsequently became its managing director in 1991. During the next eight years, backed by Unicomp — a U.S. Nasdaq quoted company — he grew the business through a buy-and-build strategy from 17 to 230 employees.
Following the sale of the business Ken then spent the next 10 years in a number of roles providing a variety of consulting services, mentoring, business development and general management for a range of companies.
In 2009 he started NewCMI (CMI) to create a new IT company focussed on providing managed services to the mid-market private and third-party sectors again via a buy-and-build strategy.
Having made two acquisitions initially in Northern Ireland Ken has subsequently led the business to make four more in southeast England in the intervening years. The company now has 110 employees and a turnover of approximately £15 million providing services to over 10,000 end users.
